Nakasendo Way Day 2 - Yoshino to Narai over Torii Pass, train to Kiso Fukushima

Oh my goodness - this morning we were greeted with amazing Columbines and great breakfast.

A quick photo outside our Minshuku

Then off to find a cute lil spoon for Audrey from this sweet lady, who served us Cherry Flower tea
AND hats for us!

Nearly pee'd my pants when I saw this tag still on Maki's hat outside!

HAD to find "the Bridge" in Narai
Also found a hashi (chopstick) maker

A quick delicious coffee - siphon method

BUT WHAT IN THE WORLD?
The start of our big hike today

Ring bells to scare bears - it really works! We never saw one bear

This hike was more than we anticipated - straight up for miles and miles (and of course the picture I use does not show it!)

This is the valley below where we started - FAR down
Water everywhere for weary travelers

Tea House where you can rest

CUTEST thing EVER - someone left cute cups to get drinks of water

Coffee Rio - Abes gave Maki some for the road

Gohei Mochi

Beauty

After amazing morning in Narai, train to Yabuhara, hike the Torii Pass back to Narai, then train to Kiso Fukushima, we are BURNT.
 Waterfront property?

Our hotel - Mikawaya

On the river...............lovely

At dinner we realize how out of shape we are. Praying for tomorrow which is a very long hike.
