Australia with Hubs Day 14 - Torquay to Melbourne

We were not ready for the big-city after being in the outskirts for 2 weeks. Look at the loads of people at the entrance here! The sidewalks were nuts too! After arriving in Melbourne, we walked for 5 hours, seeing everything we missed the first day.

Cool, funky alleys

China Town is quite large with nice restaurants.

Made me chuckle how big Krispy Kreme is here.
We happened upon this opal museum and were in awe of the beauty of organic opals.

Opals fossilized into wood.

Gotta say, I was happy to welcome some sushi after all the Vegemite items I have tried.

There are more coffee shops and barista training centers - they shun Starbucks because they have a grip of their coffee. Very very delicious.

Joseph would not let me buy Kangaroo or Emu jerky.

He REALLY did not let me buy these awesome back scratchers and bottle openers!

Hawaii needs to up their flavors! The Abalone was delicious!
But would you buy these frozen Abalone in an airport to take on the plane with you?

It has been an amazing trip. Every local we have met who asked where we have been, cannot believe we did all of this without a tour. I am super happy with how things all worked out and the plans were perfect. Koalas, Kangaroos, Glow Worms, Friendly People, FAIRY PENGUINS, beautiful coastlines, awesome foods, gorgeous weather, good travel companion (we only got in a few tiffs over directions) - all of it was a total blessing. Thankful and blessed.

One more fly day - 20 hours - then back to reality.

Australia with Hubs Day 13 - Around Torquay

Went on ferry from Queensland to Sorrento - interesting guide blocks for the ferry

Sorrento

Fairy Bread

Beautiful Limestone church from 1800's

Went on the Million Dollar House walk - these fences were awesome. The houses though - I think Lake Washington beats them.

Beautiful shoreline with boat houses.

And again - Fish and Chips...oh my...

super cool seating on the ferry

In Queenscliff. They were filming at BBC series there called "The Cry" - read more here: http://www.thelocationguide.com/2018/01/bbc-ones-the-cry-to-film-in-australia-and-scotland/

Love the door.

Poor wittle wamb

Coolest view from the observation tower- 360 view!

Famous Bells Beach! Will be fun to watch the next surf competition on TV 28 Mar - 8 Apr 2018

Not loads of wave action today though

On the way back to condo - saw a load of Kangaroos just hanging out.

Australia with Hubs Day 12 Torquay

Bought wifi and got caught working all morning. Less to do when I get back, I suppose. Did not leave our condo until almost noon! First stop - eat!

BUTTERFISH and chips! Those from Hawaii know what I am talking about!

CRACK ME UP!!!!

To those who know - this is super cool. Torquay "Dose up on surf culture at Torquay, the home of Bells Beach and birthplace of iconic brands Rip Curl and Quicksilver. The official start point of the Great Ocean Road, Torquay is Victoria's surfing and beach worship capital. "

Vegemite and Cheese "scroll" - could not really taste the vegemite. I love talking to Aussie's about this Vegemite. A lady at the outlet store said her son eats vegemite and strawberry jam sandwiches every day.

Because I aim to please - for my DIL for "Fairy Bread"

THIS is the DOG FOOD section!!! Seriously! FRESH meats and bones.

In honor of my friend Ashlee, who lives in Margaret River.

Australia with Hubs Day 11 - Port Campbell to Torquay

SINCE we got most of our lodging free (timeshares) we totally splurged on a Biplane tour of Shipwreck Coast before exploring it on foot.

COOLEST GROTTO EVER

Always bummed when I cannot stand on the toilet seat

The Twelve Apostles from land

I really like this idea - it was so expensive though!

Cape Otway Lighthouse

GPS that we RENTED busted! Thankfully, I grew up using these ancient things.

We stopped at Kennet River - HEAPS of birds and Koalas!

Bird Brain

Great Ocean Road - thank you for amazing experience <3 br="">
