Because He Lives

Because He Lives

God sent His son, they called Him Jesus
He came to love, heal, and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives.
But greater still the calm assurance,
This child can face uncertain days because He lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

And then one day I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain.
And then as death gives way to victory,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone!
Because I know He holds the future
And life is worth the living just because He lives!

~ William and Gloria Gaither ~

At my mom's church, this song was sang. My mom and I cried ~ in happiness, remembering how special this song was for us back in the day when we first knew of God's great love and sacrifice for us. Tears that tell a thousand stories of the journey of our lives as Christians. Tears of rejoicing of how God has seen us through the years....tears of wonder at the how's and why's of life. We KNOW these words are true -and that without God our life would have no purpose at all.

So my mom had a stroke and her life has drastically changed.....but there IS a purpose, God IS alive. Because HE lives, we CAN face tomorrow!
